Gary Rossington (Lynyrd Skynyrd), hospitalised
I was reading The Loop an hour ago and there it was, Jim Dalrymple posting a YouTube video from a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert. I always liked Skynyrd, so I went on on YouTube and listened to other tracks. I also hit Wikipedia for more info.
This year, Lynyrd Skynyrd turns 40. And I was actually reading about the band members and realised Gary Rossington is the only surviving active member of the original band that released Free Bird back in ‘73. I was tweeting about this (unintended irony) and someone replied with that link in the title. And it’s such a fuckin’ shame that he’s ill.
Most probably, I’ll never be able to see the band performing live, on stage. I’m OK with that, that’s life. But it saddens me, and I so hate it seeing such huge legends of rock’n’roll getting older and eventually die. What in hell are we being left with? Fuckin’ Gangnam Style?
